I thought it would be easy to go back to a couple of recently posted messages, but it's amazing how quickly a posting gets lost in the shuffle.  I find the search feature of limited use; I rarely seem to be able to come up with the right key-words. Looking under the an individual's posts may turn up tens or hundreds of pages, so wading through the list for a specific post is still like trying to randomly re-locate a person or item at the Dayton flea market.  Often, by the time I have decided that I want to keep a posting or thread available for reference, it is too already too late to bookmark because it is has become lost, mixed in with hundreds of other messages.

If anyone could guide me to any of the following, it would be greatly appreciated.

(1) The thread regarding the metal equipment name plates and the phone number of the person who might be able to make reproductions.

(2) The thread a few months ago in which Todd, KA1KAQ posted some photos of a couple of his ring-mounted D-104s.

(3) The lengthy post I did some time ago discussing AM linear amplifier efficiency.

Thanks.

   Hey Don,

Go to the "restoration"  section. there is a sticky right at the top.
I think that was the second or third reply down.

That is not the one.  It's the one I found, too.  The one I am looking for pictures a couple of 1933 era D-104s with spring/ring mount.  I could have sworn it was Todd who posted them, but haven't been able to find it in his list of messages.

The post of mine I am looking for as I recall is in a thread on the subject of using linear amplifiers on AM and the 33% carrier efficiency.

Dan, I found the one regarding the name plates.  Thanks.  Sometimes I forget which forum a topic is posted in.  This website, like many others, can be too much of a good thing when you are trying to relocate some little specific item.

Is this it Don? I find it sometimes easier just to Google a topic. That's how I found this.

I have trouble finding old threads too.

One reason is the unique spelling we have around here.

Makes the search function not work FB OM.

For example, it you want to find a post about antenna tuners, you need to search for tuna fish.

And then there are posts about microphoniums.

And it gets really bad if you are looking for skizmatics for leenear amp power suckplies.

Hi Don,

With regard to item no. 1, above:

Please go to http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?topic=26335.msg198701#msg198701 and look at reply no. 4.

This is where I posted the information pertaining to Aluma Photo Plate.

If you need more information concerning this company, or the reproduction process they utilize, please let me know.

As it turns out, they are currently making an ID plate reproduction for me and several other enthusiasts for the TMC Model RTM Modulator unit as used with the GPT-750.

73,

Bruce

I know what you mean Don!  Remember about 2 years ago I had posted "Why AM?" That was a great thread with awesome responses about why we run the AM mode.

I went to looking for it and it took me nearly an hour of searching for it but I did find it at last.
