Has anyone anywhere in the New York Tri-State area actually performed/completed the full KB2AHE's Invader 2000 modifications?

I am thinking a possible 2010 Winter Project when this beast arrives, and would like to hear input.

Thank you,
Len

I have. But then again, I wrote it Grin  Grin

Seriously, there are some audio clips floating around here somewhere from our last outing at Gaithersberg, you can, at least hear it in action.

Where are those audio clips?
Any pics?

I ran it for a while then set it aside to put the 4X1 rig back on. (Lack of room at the operating position) I plan to work it back in this winter, Its too neat of a rig to let it sit.

That article is a culmination of the trials and tribulations I went through to get it to work and sound good on AM. Not counting the hammy hambone butchery I had to undo. I had so many problems with it, it was about 1 step away from a gallon of gas and a match! (But I dont give up easily! ) The biggest problem is keeping the carrier rf from getting back into everything. the plate choke / HV bypass is just not sufficient for AM operation. I'll look around and see if I can find a few pix, I think there is some on here from our last special event station at the Gaithersburg hamfest.
