Kinda spartan but it works!  First contact was Jack W1EUI and he gave a good report so that gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.  Looking forward to getting the rest of the station  going.

Look for youse guys on the band

Good Job Al. I bet you smile every time you walk into the new rooms. I see you spaced everything out from the walls so you can easily get to the wires. For the first time ever the back of my operating position is wide open making it a snap to add or remove something. Are you planning on building some furniture?

Clark -- Yep - that's a Courier.  It's my main "fire in the wire amp."  I do have that 813 xmtr to built but right now that's my main amp.

Bill -  I think you are referring to the 4D32 home brew rig that my good friend Bob W1SET (now SK) built.  That's yet another project.

Mike -- you guessed it.  I can't count how many time I swore at the wire rats nest that I couldn't get at.  No more.  I'll have to build a cable tray for that stuff that will lay neatly behind the desk(s).  It's  becoming a habit now -- going between the radio room and the project room tinkering, sorting etc.  All the while I can hear the radio quite plainly.

Hi Al,
I heard you on 75M tonight as I was working in the shack.  BIG signal into Henrietta, NY.  Sounds great.

To the north -- overlooking my back yard, the pool.  It will be a nice view with I clean things up

Nice, very nice.  Put's my basement closet sized shack to shame. But hey someday...

Nice new digs. You need to dank it up a bit  Wink
I heard you in there loud and clear into zip 12414 this Sun. morning Al.
Quite a mini AM pile up there.

The conditions were FB. I thought I had front end issues it was so nice, just a light hiss with the SP's gain up to 5 or so.
I'll try a shot up to you next time I hear ya.

Let's see pics of the shack in 6 months.... wonder if it'll be anywhere near as neat and organized...  Shocked

I periodically clean my workbench and all the storage crooks and nannies... err nooks and crannies... something like that... but it never lasts very long!

Neat shacks are boring.

I like it Al, although it would not be my personal choice in the appearance area, only because I am incapable of achieving such a showplace shack.  I have given up on ever being in one of those CQ calendars  Grin

I would describe your shack as "postmodern vintage"  Cheesy

You all have seen my shack, or at least the part of it devoted to Amateur Radio (first photo)

Here is a shot taken from the ham corner to the rest of the shop (second photo)

My shop space is a disaster; my current excuse is that I'm finishing an attic/2nd floor remodel and I haven't done much down there in about a year. It's usually a little less trashed and the table saw would be in front of the center bench, it's currently in the attic for the trim work.

The shack space in the next room is even worse, I'll have to at least move the junk around to get the Gates in there, and then wrap it in plastic to keep out the sawdust. I hope to get the shack done this winter.

Looks Good, Al !

You have to clutter it up to get rid of the echo when you're on the air  Grin

Now there's plenty of space for 6 foot racks for your new homebrew rig !

1. Nice job.

2. Let's start a betting pool to see how long it stays that neat.

Hope to work you soon Al
