Was wasting some time on the net today,  and stubled onto this site's History of tube manufactures

http://vintagetubeservices.com/page8.html

Just FYI,  know nothing of the site sponsor,  but interesting.    Vic

Hi Fred,

Yea,  had considered editing the post to apologize for posting a link to a site that speaks of Vacuum Tubes in terms often used for wine -- complex oak overtones,  with a slendid b...  or whatever.  All a bit Phoolish to me.  But the Tung-Sol,  WE,  and Sylvania (IIRC) sections were interesting (to me).

The wine snob language is actually pretty funny!

Nice stuff on the old manufacturers, thanks for posting it!

I really enjoyed the photo tours through the old manufacturing plants, but I damn near choked over $188 for a 12AX7. When I was in the wholesale parts business in the early 70s, we used to sell 'em for $0.25/ea in lots of 10.

Thanks for the link.  Reading the history brings the life to the old equipment.
