Nice video!

Those transformers are 70 volt line transformers used in speaker distribution systems (sort of like the pole pigs on your power pole), about 500 ohm on the 10 watt tap and about 2,000 ohm on the 2.5 watt tap.

They work real well to match speakers to 600 ohm outputs and vice/versa too.

I met teh Slab Bacon because my DX-100 ( called the Derb-100) which had been mega mortified caught fire and burned in the basement. I was gonna throw it out  but he fixed the damned thing.  Cheesy The speech amp got a sub or ultra sonic feedback loop an melted down the whole LV part of the transmitter.  Grin

Good to know that those transformers are so versatile; they're cheap and available. Sounds like it'll do a great job on the audio.

that’s probably why it burned up after I left that night

yeh man, I'm hip.  Grin  They didnt use the best quality xfmrs in them linyars. Of course driving sweep tubes with 4X the needed power also has an effect.

Amazingly, that fil xformer sounded better than the stock xformer before it fried.
