Yeah...

It all looks mighty fine from the front where the operating position is but it resembles the NYC sewer system if you walk around and glance at the business end where all the magic happens...

We were refinancing and an appraiser came by and saw my Flintstone studio and audio cables and such, neatly routed around and ty-wrapped and said it was a fire hazard.

Because electrons (or their internal yet to be fully defined energy/ matter makeup) mysteriously cause fields to emit from a wire into free space by processes we can only explain with a set of defined vector lines.   Arbitrary and capricious. The math only explains the model which we can utilize to approximate in our (we like to call it 'real') world.   We just don't really know.

-and the preceding and following lectures.

About the wiring around my shack, it's just like Rob's but his is somewhat more accessible, so no picture.  One difference is that under my table top (made from 2x4's and old door) is that I've hung cables and wire from nails strategically placed for the catenaries of drooping wire hidden from top sight.  Also AC stick outlets are under the table.  His Cantenna sure brings back memories.  Why, just yesterday I looked under there.  Grin   Homebrew antenna routing switches are also screwed to the 2x4 riser posts.  Way neat in concept, way trashy in application, but I'm a Ham.

...and this was after an attempted neatening.  This wiring arrangement improves efficiency.

Fantastic!
I'm going home tonight and showing this to my wife. These look similar to mine. She's always saying, you should be ashamed allowing anyone to come in here! I'm not alone!

Yes, but it's a high quality imported wall-wart that can safely handle the job as long as you observe the warning label.

The label obviously was written by someone with a keen grasp of the English language and gets right to the point to avoid confusion and misinterpretation.

This reminds me of a little sewing knife I picked up in a fabric store 20-30 years ago.

The label said:

Warning: Keep Out of Children

Ancient pictographs adapted to modern world.  Guess you have to be immersed in the culture to truly understand and properly use a language. I'll bet the writer knew very well what was implied.

"Don't cook the children by overcharge paddling."

Well, we all know the nearest western equivalents.
"Spare the rod, spoil the child."
"Give LiO Batts for straw New Years."

It's for real - got many examples I took during my yearly visits to Japan.

Al,

How can you sleep at night with that wiring so neatly arranged??? I'd be worried that one of those wires might slip and not be perfectly parallel to the wire next to it!

Too disgustingly neat for an active amateur radio station.  Grin
