8.8-magnitude earthquake hits Chile; tsunami threatens Pacific

The following frequencies are currently being used for emergency communications in Chile - 7095 and 7050.

The Intercontinental Traffic Net on 14.300 is also active.

The Hawaii Tsunami Frequencies will be 40M 7.088 - 80/75M 3.888

Some net traffic also net reported on 14.246.5

ARRL reports Amateur Radio operators monitor the following emergency communications frequencies for traffic pertaining to the earthquake and tsunami: 3.738, 3.750, 7.050, 7.100, 14.200, 14.350, 21.200, 21.350, 28.300 and 28.500 MHz

Ever notice when a major earthquake strikes somewhere in the world, within a short time there is another one elsewhere?

Haiti, then Japan and now Chile.

The seismic disturbance from the first one sends shock waves vibrating throughout the planet, that trigger others that were already about to blow anyway?
