Then the rig is working exactly as it should. Whether in VFO mode or in crystal mode... you will need to switch to standby in order to cause the VFO to turn off.

Given the measurements you made, in standby position, the left side keyer tube has -18 volts on its plate. That should be enough to turn the VFO off.

Got 'em hooked back up, and now everything works as it should  Grin

In all my work yesterday, I found one loose contact on SW4B, but nothing else.  But magically, now everything is perfect.

I must have some good karma from something I did recently ...
