Finally got the shack back together enough to generate RF.  Called CQ on 75 for a bit, too much noise and seems the band was long to boot. No one heard or answered.

Switched over to 160 and pow, we had about 8 stations in 10 minutes, some running low power (10-20 watts) and everything from a IC-706 to an RCA BC rig and a couple SDR drivers to boot.  Seems like everyone folded up around 9:15 or so. as fast as they called in, they all signed out.

Now to shoot out that street light that is causing intermittent welding noise in my receiver and I will be in Ham Heaven.

Those DAM street lights can be a pain.
And it seems like the band folds up or the Hams fold up around 9PM on the weekdays
I would think the fun begins after 10P to reach out to the west Coast.............dunno

For years, I have noticed they roll up the sidewalks on 160 about 9 PM, regardless of band conditions.  In recent years I have been noticing much the same thing on 75.  Don't know what happened to the nocturnal emissions of yesteryear, but now everyone seems to go to bed with the chickens.

Excellent conditions on 160 this evening. More quiet than I have heard in a long time.
The Buzzy noise that was plagueing me before is gone for the time being.
