Speaking of funky tubes

Does anyone have a 592 for sale, preferably NOS?

And for a long shot Im still looking for a good 861 or two.

Also on the want list is any tube or pair capable of at least 1000W that was released prior to 1930. Actual production date is unimportant.

Add a couple of 750TH or TL or H&K  HK1254.

Last but not least is a 1000T, 1500T or 2000T.

Thanks Derb. Do you have anything on the other 354's such as C, D, E, F ?

I'll keep an eye on that 861 but the problem is that they dont travel well. There has to be a stash somewhere in RI what with the various Navy bases and Comm stations.

here ya go. I am a plumb H & K crazie.

notice the claims made regarding the ability of the tantalum elements to reabsorb gas.

H&K sure had some funky looking tubes and not many appear to have survived.  I salvaged a pair of 354's decades ago from a trashed HB amp and finally got around to using them.

H&K's most funky was the '-55' series, or the 'Gridless Gammatrons'.  It was essentially a way to get around the patents on regular tubes.

They were listed in a number of texts back in 1936, and found homes in some Press Wireless transmitters.

Today they are super rare, and any found should be preserved.

PS...I still need a socket for an 851, same as the 861 hint hint.
