Curiously, it looks like the 27.145MHz is a Class C frequency, NOT an official Class D Citizens Band channel.  I can just see radio-controlled model airplane getting strapped by this handheld.

I recently picked up an electric RC airplane at a garage sale for $7.    I fixed it up, but had no idea what band the transmitter was on.    I took it apart, checked the crystal and found that it is on this frequency.    I expect to fly the plane once before it crashes on a landing attempt, but I will check to see if 11M is open first.

Hey!!! I have two of those "BC-611" units that I bought from the Canadian version of Harbour Frieght!  (Princess Auto   http://www.princessauto.com/ ). Cute lil' radios!    And they're not superregens either! Real superhet RX.  BTW - the price was $19.95 for the pair.  I shudda bought all they had!
