Fyi, the Crown MacroTech line is not Class H... their newer stuff is essentially junk, imho. Ymmv, of course.

Stu does use the Samson but I don't think he is modulating anything terribly large, but I guess like many amps, it seems to work - although I seem to recall it blew up once and he fixed it.

For RFI proofing I'd probably put some extra filtering on the input, and maybe some ferrite if it is needed. Usually it is not.

The idea, I think is to use modified Heising so that you don't have to worry about DC on the secondary of the reverse connected output transformer...  Grin

Btw, some of the MacroTechs have empty holes for output transistors that can be filled increasing the capability into low Z loads (good for bridged) and they can be rewired for 240, iirc... the reason for the empty holes is that they use more devices for the higher power rated units, but the same PCB!  Grin
