can someone who has a unmodified (no rf speech processor added) unit take a few hi res photos of the wire bundle inside that lies across the vfo with the black sleeving on it for me, noting which wires are soldered together?

need some good hi res photos of the vfo switch and wiring thereof. Who ever modded mine with a  G3LLL clipper board hacked the wiring to it. I messed with it because the processor also affected the reciever - the processor had to be on for the receiver to have full gain. So it had to go.

This will explain: ( from teh fox tango newsgroup )

.....Also then I noticed when I got the rig back and after I pulled the
processor out of circuit completely putting the FT-101EE back into stock
condition.  I also put my AM filter back into the unit, and
now AM was working better then ever and never sounded so good on the rig.

....Thinking about it later and  I had often wondered about it too over the past couple of years.
Having noted that the G3LLL processor was in the receiver I.F. as well as transmitter
I.F. that means the XF-30 crystal filter installed on the processor board
all this time past was limiting my receive I.F. thus rendering my AM filter 6khz
response making it some what worthless in the past.

That stupid board made the AM filter worthless.  Angry Angry

Tim,

In the rear bundle, white connects to red and white w/yellow stripe connects to white w/gray stripe.  No wires are connected in the front bundle

High res version sent to your email.

Thank you very much! I have to get some down time because of drugs and such, when I get up I'll wire it that way and turn it on for a smoke test.  Cheesy
