I have been on 7160 for the last 4 nights all I can here is SSB'ers, I am getting old so before I go to bed I listen at 7pm to 9 pm central standard time. No AM do I hear I tried to call CQ 2 nights ago I couldn't find room with all the SSB on 7160kc. Maybe I am just in the wrong place in the US,to hear anything or everyone is on after 9pm. If we dont use it we will loose it, and I think we just lost it.

Thanks

I worked an AM station this evening, and one last evening too.  Two nights in a row.  Never had to call CQ.  Last evening, I tuned up and ID'ed and the station came back to me.  To-night, I briefly worked a SSB station (an AM'er who hasn't fired up his AM rig in a while).  When we finished, an AM WA2 station called me.  We talked for a while, until I went into the house for the evening meal.  As I was leaving, I heard a couple more calling me, but I didn't feel like a cold supper, so I didn't  respond.  Hope they could hear each other.

If everyone listens but no-one transmits, no AM signals will be heard.

Had a nice QSO with Fortunato, 9H1ES on 7160 kHz at around 2300 GMT (7PM EDT). He was running his FRT-501 and R-390 receiver and was 59 into my QTH. First European AM QSO on 40 meters!! Bravo Fortunato.

Later N8ITF, W9AD and KC3OL joined and continued with a nice QSO for some time.
