Wow, that was kinda freaky...

it always worries me when Government types start talking about how people are to get their information.
You are what you eat is more true intellectually than any other form...

yes, which side it is buttered on for sure. But let's see how he does the job. TV has not been worth the electricity to watch it in a long time, except for the morning local news and weather weather on CH 4 here in DFW..

TV is what it's always been, a distraction for the masses.
Though it has degraded a whole lot. Either as a sign of our devolving culture or a cause.

The worrysome thing abou this "speach" was the implication of some sort of manifesto. That "more regulation" was required to ensure people get the proper information.

Kinda spooky as some elements of his statements imply control of media by government, including print. 

Lets see though, perhaps he's just repeating current party dogma to keep his job...

Sounds like typical gov't/corporate bureaucratic gobblygook to me.  It's not clear exactly what he was trying to say.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens after the new chairman is appointed and the vacant commissioner slot is filled.

I'm not putting on my tinfoil hat just yet.

I just hope the new commission will be more interested in controlling things like  interference from Part 15 devices and power line noise, than in Janet Jackson's boob.

Over-the-air broadcasting is pretty much a lost cause anyway.
