-picked it up at the Timmonium fester; all seems to be complete, couplets replaced w/  orange drops and resistors. The front  panel just says HQ-110,  no A or C etc. but it does have a working telechron clock.  Where's the loc. of the serial no. supposed to be?
Thanks gentlemen.

My HQ-110 has "1642" stamped on the chassis in the back between the Zero Meter Adjust and the antenna terminals.  I assume that's the S/N.

Mine has nothing there but I did find a 7221 rubber stamped on the main tuning cap body.
Anyway everything works, even the clock but I'd forgotten a lot of it's SSB quirks.... great on AM though  Grin   It sure could use a good product detector.

OK found it.  It is a metal stamped '108' partially hidden by a SO 238 antenna connector someone drilled and mounted right above it along with a BNC for IF pickoff.  I had to unscrew the outer hex on the SO 238 to verifiy the "8."

I'm amazed that the darn thing works at all.  Some hum modulaton on CW/SSB that filter cap replacements or additions should help if not the 6AZ8 tube itself. Thanks for the hint.

Rick,

Was that the one out in the tailgate area? I came by as a deal was going down on that one, but since I hadn't seen you in your cape yet, probably didn't recognize you.

I have a 110 and a 110A - don't know why I do, but that was a receiver that was popular back in my early days and couldn't afford one then.

That 6AZ8 was the one tube that I didn't have in my spares kit, so I picked up one down there. They cost more than most old miniature tv tubes but they are used in some Collins rigs - KWM2 maybe, so that's no doubt the reason.

Good seeing you again,

73, Dave

Yeah Dave, we've gotten older, huh.
... cape or no.  I did a double take on you at Frank's too.  Grin
Great seeing you; too bad we couldn't split a pork BBque.
