There is a book out that has some of the specfications but I can not find it around here. It is called "Tube Lore, Sibley, USA 1996" Maybe one of you have a copy of it. I would like information on the above 7C29 tube.

Thanks Terry

It sounded like an interesting book so I ordered a copy from ebay.

If no one has responded by the time it comes, I'll post the specs.

Terry and all,

For tube info first hand from the people who really know you should check out,
http://www.tubecollectors.org/

Mr. Ludwell Sibley, the books author is part of this as are some former Eimac and other tube Mfg. fngineers.

They have a very informative e-mail group.

I dunno, searching for it keeps referring me to a tube porn site in Poland.
"Porn Download 7c29"
"naked straight guy 7C29 Projects For The Amateur ... tube porn site"

I did not investigate.

I found it is likely an GE or RCA triode. Possibly also called GL-7C29

If this isn't the correct tube I also have a GE listing for 7C29 that calls it a Gas/Mercury Thyratron replaced by # 714/7021. Measurements of 6.125 X 2.063 inches. This data from a 1979 GE Industrial Tube Products Guide.

Terry, do you actually have one?  If so, looks like it's a pretty hefty beast of 500 watt plate dissapation.  Get a 10v fil. xformer, rated same as for a pair of 833's for starters, and fire it up. A smaller primary adding/bucking xformer can get you the extra 0.5 volts if required.  Thoriated tugsten fil. means fast warm=up and probably can take voltages similar to a 4-400A.  I'd fire it up for fun in grounded grid without any further specs. unless you want to save it for posterity, a serious collector or bona-fide museum.  The AWA will take it, I'm pretty sure.

I done a lot of research on the 7C29 and the best information I can come up with is that it has a 10 volt filament @ 28 amps. It is a very close cousin of the GL 434A. There is absolutely no information on the GL-434A. I have several GL-434A tubes and they are hefty little external anode tubes that look like they could handle a KW with ease. The GL-434A was covered on here about a month ago so I'm familiar with those posts. So I'm still looking for anything new on the 7C29 or the GL 434A.

Thanks for your help so far guys  Grin Grin Grin

There is absolutely no information on the GL-434A.

Best I can do here is:  GL 434A, AKA ZP 434; xmtg, UHF triode, In BC-667

No information on the ZP 434
