Looks like either a post office Tree brand boot or a publication walk-on smear big time.

Say, think someone already mentioned it but there's a really nice cathode mod. rig write-up by W8NWF. -- 833 modulated in cath. by four 6146's in a supurbly crafted slide out rack cabinet.

I know WA4ODY's proud of his work and shouldn't dis it but there are 15(!) pages devoted to the work-over of a70K-2 PTO.  I guess more of us should write some articles for ER.

Rigs for sale are few.  Knob inlays, Johnson tie-bolts, TR-7 extenders boards, manual copies, Hammarlund clock crystals, panel refurbishings, etc. are many.

The 'wanteds' seem just the opposite.

At least you only had a footprint on the cover.  You ought to see how the PO shreds up my issues of CQ magazine!

YEA,
My ER looked like it has tire marks on the front and bent outta shape.

Those $20/hr workers better get ready for some time-off!!!
The USPS is broke(n)

When it comes by the Periodical or Media rate delivery, you really take your chances. Mine comes in an envelope via First Class and, once in a while, it sometimes looks like it got hung up in the sorting machine.

Looks like the Postmaster was again pleading his case for financial relief on 3/25 before Congress.  CQ Magazine is always very prompt in replacing a monthly magazine chewed up by the postal beavers.

I'm not just any newcomer to ham radio, as I'm familiar with QST, CQ, 73, etc. But what is 'ER'? Should I know what it is?

Electric Radio Magazine.  Indispensible for vintage radio enthusiasts.   I couldn't live without it.

Some of the inner pages of my March ER were chewed up by the printer.  I gave Ray (N0DMS) a call, and a new copy arrived promptly.  You'll never fine a nicer gentleman to do business with.
