Nice

Gonna have to try that at the range next time. I do the "bump firing trick" where you hold the rifle loosely, and let the rocking motion from firing pull the trigger when the weapon falls forward. Really gets attention when I dump a 30 round mag in a mini14 in 5 seconds.

Anyone ever try those little crank handles that went into the trigger guard? had a set of pegs that would engage the trigger when you cranked it.

Check out this video on using a rubber band to bump fire. This works great with my son's Thompson, but you burn up a lot of money fast.

Fun I'm sure but does little for accuracy.

So the ATF is now claiming that a shoestring with loops tied at both ends is an illegal weapons component?

That makes about as much sense as claims that alligator clips are illegal drug paraphernalia.  I have heard reports of people actually being arrested when a cop sighted an alligator clip lying on their dashboard, even though it had no traces whatever of illegal substance residue.  Imagine someone in one of those paranoid locales, at a booth at a non-radio flea market, with a cigar box full of alligator clips or bundles of clip leads, like what you see all over Dayton or any other hamfest fleamarket.

I did not intend it to make fun of the ATF. It is the person who made the inquiry that was a little silly here. I am sure the reply could have only been as it was. If the shooter uses a shoestring to make his semi fire full, he has "made" a machine gun in the eyes of the law. If the person making the inquiry would have read and understood the law better, this would not exist. The law can be very confusing. I've found the ATF to be very helpful.

As far as alligator clips, some policemen are kinda challenged in the common sense department.

Please elaborate.. I am not aware of interesting uses for the lowly matchbook. There are some nefarious uses of course..
