One of our S.A. sales reps sent us this picture from Equador, and I just had to post it.
Enjoy Shocked

I put both hands in my pockets just looking at that picture. Is Quito close to Gilligan's Island? Looks like something the professor would build.

Looks like a second fan behind the tank Dave.

Closely resembles (SK) WB4AOE's 833-A transmitter in the mid 60's, except his had only one or two meters.  About 1 or 2 minutes into a transmission, little wisps of smoke would start rising from certain components.  I nicknamed it the "barbecue pit".

Hey Mike,

WELCOME BACK!

Oh yes, the HB transmitter...  Looks like another use for Uni-Strut...

As for the second blower, yeah, there is one back there .  Looks like it's aimed at the 833 hidden behind the tank coil...

Hey Paul,

Bill and I were there for about 5 min... QRN was too much for the low power
and we called it an afternoon.

I see Bill just signed in this min. on Skipe...

I admire that greatly, although the blower should be aimed down at the 833's. It's a manly man's manly transmitter. And I am glad I live in the USA where materials are more affordable. I must give credit to the builder for economical use of materials. I think it also wins the watts per dollar award.

Probably works better on AM and CW than most of the "new fangled" high priced riceboxes.

Quito huh?  home of real AM homebrew and the quad antenna....Very groovy TX......I am a big fan of the    "open air" transmitter...One of my transmitters was once described as a "walk thru" by Paul VJB....  Interesting airy tx building as well...

Hands in pocket indeed. I see that fan and I just noticed the 'tin' roof over the top. Pigeon proofing?
