Yea! And they removed my bio too!

====
Born in 1972, it was apparent at an early age he was a musical prodigy. By the age of five he had mastered the piano, violin and zither. By age six he had played in concert with the London Philharmonic. Through his music he mastered Latin, Italian, German, Russian and the French languages.

But music was not enough. He enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at age ten and by age 13 was awarded a Doctorate in Physics. At age 15 he left his position on the Board of Governors at Yale and embarked on an odyssey that took him to Sri Lanka, Timbuktu, and finally to the Dali Lama in Tibet. After living there for two years he traveled the globe for three years, visiting every country and continent. While in Europe he worked briefly at the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) with Tim Berners-Lee to develop the world wide web concept. He documented his travels and they will soon be published by Doubleday.

He eventually returned to live in the United States. He now winters in St. Moritz, for the skiing, summers in Newport, for the sailing, and frequents he French Riviera, for the parties. Many pleasant weekends are spent with friends and celebrities at his beach house in Key West boating, scuba diving, exploring ancient shipwrecks and singing Jimmy Buffet songs, with zither accompaniment.

He dabbles in painting, sculpture, wine making, full contact origami, sky diving, chili peppers, cave exploring, ice fishing, astronomy, breeding Bengal tigers and Formula One racing, while researching the human genome, working on the Space Station with NASA, writing episodes for Star Trek, NYPD Blue, The Simpsons and essays on life in Antarctica. All of this leaves little time for ham radio.

QRZ is hardly a comprehensive list.....

I have never not found a ham in it until now

You are in the FCC database, but it appears you want your address hidden (i.e. no listing in QRZ).  You can say cows can fly but that does not make it so.

What's wrong with the address in the FCC database....?

Again, more likely to be accurate.

If his address is there I missed it

Your point?

I thought hams were smart and thus you would see my point. In case you missed my video, see:

I'm here and you are here. You made your comment about the address here. Can't you answer a simple question? What is your point about his address being listed or not listed?

Steve.... it's hard to answer when one does not understand the (simple) question.

He's a troll dude, that's all there is to it. He popped that vid up on utube to get himself some attention then googles his call to find out who's saying what. Personally, if I was unhappy with this hobby and didn't care for the individuals it attracted, I would find something else to do, but some dogs aren't smart enough to come in out of the rain.

I spotted that from post one. However, being the open-minded, caring, fair guy that I am, I thought I'd give him a chance to prove me wrong.  I'll wait, but not for long.

Since you were able to memorize the answers to the ham test I figured you would get it. His address not being listed may indicate that he is afraid of someone knowing where he lives.

"Troll?" A term that comes from the days of BBS and SYSOPs. I did not Google my call. On You Tube you can see where viewers come from, and it pointed me here. I am not unhappy with the hobby (and it is a hobby, not a service), I despise some of the traits of hams. However I doubt that would apply to any hams who operate AM as they clearly are into technology.

And that means what exactly? You are going to censor?
If you look at the comments on my You Tube posting, you will see many critical of me. I have the power to remove them, but I am not into power, I do not censor. I appreciate all viewpoints and almost all were respectful. But if you are into power and need to censor (remove me), have at it.

BBS and SYSOPs, those were the days. When the home PC cost $12,000 and sucked so much juice out the wall, you had to turn the lights off so to keep the screw-in fuses from popping.

While your vid point's out some of the more amusing idiosyncrasy's of amateur radio, what you failed miserably at is the fact that it's a hobby that has something for everyone. Contester's, rag chewers, repeater junkies, and even "piss and moaners" such as yourself; there's room for everybody. People are all different and they're behavior on the radio reflects that particular individuals' personality, and these thing's are what keep the hobby interesting.

On this forum, we stick together, it's the AM way. You probably won't get yourself escorted to the door unless you become belligerent.

Please stop dwelling on the qrz listing thing and the "hobby vs. service" thing, because we all know the difference and nobody really gives a sh!t.

Put some content in your posts that matters and you'll get conversation. If that's not what your looking for here, then gtfo.

Aw Burt, Burt, Burt (or whoever you are, since your call isn't part of your ID like the rest of us) -

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, most folks here would agree and support that. You even make some good or, if nothing else, amusing points. But you also assert your opinion as if it were fact, which it is not. For example, it really is the Amateur Radio Service as defined by the governing body responsible, the FCC. I won't disagree that it has mostly evolved into a hobby, or that some see the public service avenue as an invitation to be ham-sexy. But does posting a video online that derides others for being different than you make you any better? We've seen similar here, the occasional post of someone looking down their nose at the newbies, assuming Superiority via CW, claiming to be something they are not. It's no different, and always strikes folks the same way: poorly.

Rather than piss and moan, why not try to help out these folks you see as so misguided and beneath you? Wouldn't that be more in the spirit of amateur radio? Or did you start your ham career at the top and work your way down? I've had bad days like you as well, and can tell you that it's only as bad as you choose to make it in your mind, Burt.  Wink

BTW, I had a BBS once. Or maybe it was a BBGun....

Wait Todd, you mean they weren't serious??

Boy do I feel foolish

No need to feel foolish, O.M. - it happens to the best of us! You are a first class op, top shelf, buzzard-to-be, etc. Steve and Johnny are just very...insidious with their humor. They could tell you weren't prepared. None of us really know it's happening. I once did, but forgot.

Damn! Now THAT would make you a most excellent 'All About ME' page! You're not, by chance, a ploymath, are you? Since the slanderous, rude behavior of QRZ with respect to the HUZman, I'd forgotten the depth and magnitude of this man. 'Renaissance' falls so short.

Burt - you still with me? This is one guy you don't wanna mess with. Or maybe two, I'm not sure. He is all powerful, controlling, and able to overcome most anything. Just ask the hit counter on QRZ (check first to see if the black-and-blues have healed from when the grease burned out of its axle). They don't call him the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla for nothin'!

Keep an eye on that 'BIL guy too. He's a killah. I mean, who ever heard of a ham shooting venison?? OutRAGEOUS , I say. Certainly not worthy of holding his ticket with such behavior. Bailiff! Whack his...

Weird hams, hidden address conspiracies, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together! What is this world coming to?  Shocked

Who is QRZ?  The final licensing authority?  Try using the FCC database.

I agree with the comment about the FCC v. QRZ.  It is unfortunate that many hams think that if you are not listed in QRZ you aren't a real ham.  I don't agree with the politics, or comments of many people who get booted off QRZ but I also don't agree with QRZ "delisting" them from their database and then turning around and selling the "official" listing of all ham calls.  The only official listing for hams is the FCC ULS database unless my understanding is incorrect.  There is even an anti-qrz league.  Check out www.hamsexy.com

You really do have some valid points. I need to conform more to the "AM way" as I have a great deal of respect for AMers. I would love to find an old broadcast transmitter. I bid on one in Ebay but could not figure how to get it here.

Whoa... I was not booted of QRZ, I am a member in good standing Smiley  Anyone who Googles my call will see I've
been a ham for many years.  I just wonder why Burt is so interested in stalking me, and that he has to know where I live?

Now, that is creepy.

Yes I did Google you and you have quite the listing. Clearly you are very active but I could not figure why you were not in QRZ. I did see your address finally in the FCC listing. I do not need to know where you live. I thought you were hiding your address. I still have no recollection of selling you a camera. Did you come to my house?

Well, if you're so inclined (even if it's just to make someone els feel beeter..)

Go to the "profile" tab....
Under "modify profile" goto "modify profile information".

There you can add a signature line, personal text, or title.

No, we were chatting on the 146.94 Holyoke repeater.  It was an older Panasonic camera, the type used for the early portable VCRs that had a separate tape deck and camera.  We meet up someplace. This goes back to the    90s or 80s.

I cannot reach that repeater from here but on the other hand I somehow think the K1ZJH call is familiar and why would you lie? Also I would not mock someone who bought something from me, it is wrong and it is foolish. If something rings a bell, I will let you know. If I do another video, I will speak of AMers, VERY POSITIVELY!
