Here is an article related to that whole issue of why the Solar Cycle
has taken so long coming -- with several claims that it has started and
with all of us still waiting. And waiting. And monitoring 15 and 10
meters for openings.

It also touches on that sensitive issue of Global Warming. If this
situation were to turn into a Maunder Minimum of decades duration as it
did three centuries ago, this could cause a significant global cooling
again. Probably the LEAST probable situation is climate stability.
