The following is a snip from the text of on e-mail I received this morning.

I'm a SWL and I was scanning around the 75 meter band last night when I heard you calling CQ on 3705, AM.  I figured I would look up your callsign and give you a signal report.  You were booming in loud and clear here in Fairfield, CT.  Just about the best sounding signal I've heard from an amateur radio station.  I was listening with a Grundig Satellit 800 using a random-length longwire.  I didn't realize that hams use AM on 75 meters, but after receiving your signal with such strong and clear audio, I decided to read up on it.  Very interesting.  Thanks.

True story. An AM'er friend once received this note in his mailbox:

"Hi, I can hear you talking on your ham radio station at night through my computer speakers. I looked up your callsign on the inernet and saw your address. I live on the next street over, and reception is very good and your audio is very clear, although for some reason I cannot hear the other stations. I would appreciate a QSL card if you have one."
