If you've never seen the PBS documentary version by Ken Burns or even if you have, this is an excellent read. Tom Lewis did a great job of highlighting important, historical events and the people who made them so. He also brings to light a good deal of the misinformation put forth by Lee DeForest, David Sarnoff, and so on. Burns really brought it to life in the documentary.
Best of all, he clarifies the important role played by Maj. Edwin Howard Armstrong. Long overlooked by the history books, we own this man a lot.
The show is pretty good too, just wish it was longer than 3 hours.
