Hi:

As many of you know I have an article in Electric Radio this month about George, W1GAC.

I created a much longer article with many photos for anyone who is interested. Email me at:

w1dan@arrl.net

for the 4mb PDF file on George. Maybe this article will also be posted on this web site sometime?

Dan

Hi Dan,

Great article on W1GAC.  Have never worked George (or even heard him on the air) ,  but read your write up with grat interest -- usually just scan ER.  Thanks for doing the tribute,  and to Paul WA3VJB for his efforts to have an interview recorded .

Too much of the time we seem to feel very busy,  and put off these inportant efforts to record,  document and interview those who have come before us and often pioneered in some way.

73  Thanks again.    Vic  K6IC

For anyone who has yet to read this article, I have to say that Dan did an excellent job not only in his research and writing of the article, but also in his efforts to preserve George's history and legacy through the actual gear, photos, documents and so on. It's important to preserve the gear itself, but there are so many other, less-noticeable items that are equally important and help fill out the story.

Now that Keith has posted the article online, it's easy to access and well worth the read.

Thanks also to Paul, for his audio record of George. I always enjoyed my conversations with him, and will miss his unique voice and character.
