Will be checking and calling on 7.290 most nights at 7-8-9 PM and maybe 10 PM (eastern time) to create some activity on 40. I hear some slop buckets in there now @ 7:42 PM.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Ok Fine!

Give a listen for me.  I'll fire up the Cheyenne tonight.  If I hear you, I'll give a shout.  Lately 7290's been a little sparse for activity.

Ok Fine! I'm on there right now. I'll check in and call CQ at 9 & 10 tonight. Please let me know how many pounds my signal is coming in at and what your twenty is?

I just briefly listened on 7290 (was busy dealing with soldering mic connections & doing laundry).  I didn't hear anything around 7290.

Thanks to all who have replied. I'll try it again tonight starting at 8:00 PM till 10 PM. Will be on at the top of each hour. Maybe it's better after 11 PM but I'm in bed by then. Let me know what the BC stations are doing in your area.

After 11 PM the broadcast activity begins to thin out down below.  Try 7125-7180 or so.  I have heard Europeans booming in (on SSB of course).  Countries heard include UK, Germany and Spain.

Some of our AM friends in the Netherlands have indicated they are listening, since some European countries have now granted hams limited privileges above 7100..

Hello AM-lovers,

Often I receive SSB from USA on 7150 and 7155.
Some W0 and W7 I often hear talking with U.K. stations.
But still to many BC stations between 7100 to 7200.
Mostly between +/- 7145 to 7160 is free in Europe.
Only between +/- 04.00 to +/- 05.00 GMT London time.
In Hollands time +/- 06.00 to +/- 07.00 hours, early mornings.... Wink

Hello Henk, Good to hear from you. This morning I heard on 7.238 a group called the Chicken Chasers or something like that.  One guy was very clear from San Diego so it seems to be open from 5:00 AM eastern till about 6:30 AM. I think I'll belch out a CQ in the morning on 7.290 on AM. No SSB in there at that time of day.

Maybe tonight if the static is not too loud.

Hello Terry,

Last weeks bad conditions on 3885.
No USA station received last weeks!!!
Your AM freq. 7290 is in use by BC station in Europe!
So we can NEVER receive AM on that freq. Embarrassed
Best way: use freq. between 7145 to 7155.
And sometimes (when BC stations are off air) around 7185.

Greetings,

Henk from Dokkum Wink

That part of the band usually stays free of broadcast signals here, after 0500 GMT.  That's when I usually catch the W7 stations in roundtable with the UK station.  If more broadcast QRM comes on in Europe after 0500 GMT, it is not audible here.  I wonder if it located somewhere outside of Europe and beamed your way.
