Fell asleep last night around 1 AM  listening to the bedside rcvr and a lot of nice AM signals around 3875. Woke up around 4:30 and tuned around listening to some SSB down around 3820. Was pleased to hear a 7 lander in Tuscon in QSO with a 5 lander from west TX who was complaining about icy wx both with very readable signals. The big surprise was hearing a KH6 join the QSO. He was hard to hear but readable. That is a long haul from CT to there. Not bad for a FRG 100 and about 50 feet of random wire out the side window. Hope it stays that way tonight.

Very good conditions last night. Talked to Deano/KNX from Tucson, Mike-KA0ARA from Kansas City, Smithy from Skowhegan, ME, KD1ZY from Portland, ME and Don-K4KYV from Tennessee and Brentina-W1IA in NH. Everyone was strapping, especially Deano. Also worked Henk-PE1MPH and Jean-F6AQK on 3705 AM earlier. The cold WX definitely squelched the static. Won't be too many more nights like that.

When I awoke, the frequency was vacant, but there were two or three AM QSO's still going on in the band.  Heard only one CW station, and only a couple of SSB sigs in the entire band.  More AM signals than SSB signals or CW signals in the entire band.

Just wish I hadn't crapped out before our QSO ended.

I heard you for a little bit there Don at 1 AM. Think I heard Brent too. But that was a short listen as the effect of a large Easter dinner and a couple hours at the local watering hole with the brother in law quickly settled in on me

Yes, the band was very interesting here in KC. At first short with  Don/K4KYV and Jason/KB0INT then going long with Tim/WA1HLR,
Steve/WB3HUZ,Stu/W2PPH,Tom/KA1JZC,Brent/W1IA and Dean/WA1KNX. The night finished for me with Dave/WB3GTM and Sid/? in Georgia before I signed off. Thanks for all the contacts after being off the air for 12 years it was a special night for me indeed.
