Here's an opportunity to put a bug in your Director's ear about your issues and concerns before he heads off to the meeting.

OH Yes !... "The Directors Meeting" engraved in stone with six pages, very small font of "abbreviated notes" distributed from on high.

Oh how I yearn for the days of my youth when Huntoon ruled with an iron fist. Pun intended.

Although the minutes from last weeks meeting still have not be posted on the ARRL web site, here are several snippets that were posted on the ARRL's Amateur Radio News Section:

* The ARRL Board of Directors accepted the Report of the National Emergency Response Planning Committee (NERPC)

* The Board also accepted the report of the Technology Task Force (TTF). Chaired by ARRL Pacific Division Vice Director Andy Oppel, N6AJO, that panel advised the League to continue the Software Defined Radio and Digital Multimedia Above 50 MHz working groups and establish a new working group to explore activity detection for digital modes. The TTF also recommended that the ARRL demonstrate and promote viable digital voice technologies, and sponsor a design challenge to develop inexpensive, open-source data communication protocols.

* ARRL Chief Technology Officer Paul Rinaldo, W4RI, reported that the League's Technical Relations Office in Washington, DC, has been addressing World Radiocommunication Conference 2007 preparations, International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) support, interference to and from military radar systems and cooperation with AMSAT and other organizations.
