Well the weather men (plural) are saying we are in for another round of sleet and snow starting tomorrow night.  Here in the South of Oklahoma they are saying up to 5 inches of snow.  That is a lot for this part of the country.

With the jet stream looking the way it is, the storm will move over Northern Arkansas/Southern Missouri to St. Louis and up to Chicago area in the next few days.  So batten down the hatches for another round.

It's already started in northern Maine... 10 to 16 inches expected by tomorrow.
Although it's warmed up a lot (to +25F), not too bad for shoveling. The 25 mph winds expected won't help the drifting though!
Stay warm, everyone... fire up the big rigs for heat in the shack!

Hi all---

Well, the 8 to 9 inches they forecasted earlier this week has finally arrived as sleet/rain here in OKC. Temp currently just above freezing. This may help melt off some of the several-times-compacted and refrozen slop that is still on many of our secondary streets and driveways from the last wave. OR, depending on how long this keeps falling, as well as the temp, we might end up with a shiny layer on everything!

I'm thankful that last weekend's storm didn't cause power failures around this area. Getting to work was slowed down somewhat for a couple of days; I have to drive about 13 miles each way. The main thing was being able to stay out of "packs" of vehicles and be able to anticipate stops, long hills, etc. Here in Central  Oklahoma we have not had much winter precip for several years; at least any that remained on the ground for long. That has caused us to have quite a crop of younger drivers with little or no experience driving on ice or snow. Gotta watch out for them, especially when they are armed with cellphones.

Well, I guess I'll hope for the best and go do something "constructive".
