Another stellar evening of radio on 75M. Started out with the usual locals at 4-5pm....they disappeared around 5pm, followed by the arrival of some slopbucket...followed by the sudden appearance of Tom, KA1ZGC, who broke my squelch around 6:00pm PST. He was at WA1HLR's QTH and we chatted about 1/2 hour before Dave W9AD broke in and then the flood gates were open.

By the time I signed out to go for dinner at 7:30pm I had worked

WA1ZGC   +10
W9AD       +20
KD0HG      +20
WA3VJB    +10
WD8BIL     +10
KC3OL       S9
KB4YXT     S3-5 Florida

And all youz guyz had wonderful audio. I will try to email sound clips when I get them dubbed off DAT.

thanks!!

Paul was this the Bauer 707 we were hearing again last night?

Very nice with the CRL and the RE 20 I believe you mentioned in the audio chain.

Here as heard in Chicago by our man Dave, W9AD, monitored on his SDR-1000, rendered as an MP3.

Bill, you were the loudest I have ever heard you at Annapolis. Sound file to follow. Here's how you came into Chicago.

1.3M file size, MP3

Hi Paul,

Yes that was the Bauer 707. It's the only big rig I have for 75M right now. Yes, that was the CRL AM-4 system which is the AGC-400, SEC-400 and PMC-450. I was also using the Optimod 9105 at times.  I was actually using the SM-7 Saturday but have been meaning to put the RE-20 back on line just for a change. I was also going to put the Apex 460 back in service. It's a beautiful 1" condensor with a tube preamp. I found it picked up a lot of room noise but I have since installed some Sonex around the TX so it should be a little quieter now. All projects for a quiet evening of playing radio.

Thanks for the MPEG file. Sounds pretty good. I will try to send you the recording from my end today.

Cheers
Paul

Yep, that was one hell of a crowd we had gather on Saturday. I had a blast. I sure felt those 807s in the morning, though.  Lips sealed

Great to finally work you on the air, Paul. Hope to catch you on again when the band gets long and manly.
