Yesterday the episode of Bones was set in 1950s Los Angeles.  On the shelf in the police chief's office was an Apache transmitter.  No matching receiver so I'm not sure how that was supposed to work exactly, but anyway.

And then on Limitless the plot had the main character working the South China Sea on 17 meters at dawn with what looked like a Yeasu, an MFJ tuner, and, presumably some kind of indoor whip.   Maybe ham radio is getting cool again.
