On "AWA Amplitude Modulation QSO Party", where are the rules posted? The log sheet is OK but has a column marked "power multiplier". I do not know what goes in there.

Unfortunately, it appears that the rules did not get on the AWA website.  It is listed in the winter edition of the AWA Journal but many have not received the winter edition of the Journal yet, including yours truly due to the method they are mailed.

I will be using the AWA callsign - W2AN tomorrow during the AWA - PM / AM net which is at 4PM on 3.837.  Hope to hear as many of you as can join in.

Bill Fizette - W2DGB did a scan of his winter Edition of the AWA Journal page dealing with the AM QSO party and here is the actual article:

Great!! Thank you! It says 7280 to 7295. Some of us old crabs in Texas are on 7160 Sunday afternoons.

None of those frequencies are cast in stone.  So you will often find AM QSO's outside of the suggested frequencies.

Very good Brandon.  I was hosting the AWA AM Net as W2AN which meets every Sunday at 4PM on 3.837.

At least one person who had not used AM much at all fired up his IC756 radio and amplifier (two 3-500Zs) and joined our 7160 antics with a 200W carrier. His signal was excellent. I like it when new people join. By using other freqs beside the traditional ones, new people frequently try it.

Come to the dark side...

I certainly agree and out of those "lets give this AM stuff a try"  becomes a start for many operators into a long time history of operating AM.  That's why when I hear a "ricebox" on AM, I am not harsh about my comments if it does not really sound very good.  I have had some SSB ops tell me they will not get on AM again because they got such a poor welcome from "some" and I believe its a small number of AM'ers that do not welcome them.  Its far more productive to help them dial it.

Well I had thought it was last weekend but then figured I had misunderstood. To that end I tuned around and frankly heard diddly squat. Just the usual 7290/95, 3705, 3717, 3725 and "the zoo" (3885).
