FCC shut down today, 10/1/13. Will there be anarchy on the amateur bands. According to ARRL, dated 10/1, maybe not:
"Only a handful of the FCC’s 1754 employees have been scheduled to remain on duty, including eight employees “retained to conduct interference detection, mitigation and disaster response operations.” Only one “senior management official” in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau — which oversees Amateur Radio — was scheduled to be on duty for the extent of the shutdown."

Don't worry, I still have my orange vest.

Please don't forget, the ARRhL is here to protect us.

If they will stay shut down until NOV 1, the Halloween pirates may do better. OCT 31 is the traditional biggest day(night).
