I looked under Announcements and can't find any recent comments on the annual Heavy Metal thing we do? Isn't it about time we start talking it up or otherwise it will be lackluster?

Well anyhow I assume that it will start on December 28th this year and go to ??

I'll be at camp on my BC-610D rig and then the camp is closed down till March 2013 when fair weather returns up there near Lake Placid, NY.

Hummm I'm doing my part, working on the 813 P/P rig. I hop to have it on the aiir soon.

Looking at the special event callsigns issued, it apears that only K8Z and W1G are listed.

Just received this email from Ray @ ER today:

By the way, the Heavy Metal Rally is this Saturday evening, the 29th. I totally messed up the date in November ER!

I don't think the rally is going to have any rules this year. Ray stated in the last two issues of ER that in memorial to Bill, he was re-naming it the "KD0HG Heavy Metal Rally", and for everyone to get in there and have a great time in participation. It doesn't matter if you're running a Retro 75 or a converted broadcast transmitter; join in. He also said that he would accept and appreciate logs for those who would keep them; so those, pictures, comments, etc. are welcome.

BTW, Merry Christmas everyone! I hope to get a chance to speak with everyone during the rally.

I think that is correct.. Run what ya brung.  No rules and NO cornesters this year. Its just a night of AM to be enjoyed by all, You dont need a "real" radio to get involved.

I'll probably fire up the modified FT-901 and get on, if the amp decides to stay together this weekend and not blow up like it did a few months ago.
