Getting ready for the Rally...DEC 29th...I hope to have 7 heavy metal transmitters operating....I have some antenna work to do and some transmitter repairs to get done..
I was looking for the results and comments from last years rally but the search isn't cooperating... I would like to re read that stuff for some inspiration....Also this might be a good time to re-post the rules and start     /stop times for the rally...I have been talking it up to the AMers that I am working....There is some enthusiasm amongst the troops...I checked into the California Military Radio Collectors net last night on 75 meters and told the assembled about the Rally.....Some already knew and others were glad to hear about the event...I'm looking forward to it....What are you gonna run?....

Is it raining? Antenna work is best done in the rain.

It may be prudent to begin Special Event callsign requests.

WOW Steve,

Nice line-up.  Is your operating position on rails?

And believe that this is not all of the Heavy Metal.

What is the story regarding the home brew equipment in the picture? I'm refering to the black wrinkle decks with the arched windows. I see the trio... that looks like restoration/storybook material. Nice to see your transmitter row.

According to Electric Radio there will be no points or stuctured contest this year other than to start at local sundown and have fun.

Very few logs were submitted last year so ER decided that 'contest' mode was moot for this year because most AM'ers just wanted to have fun QSO's.

They did suggest that as many real heavy metallers get on the air as possible and send in your logs and especially comments on others as you wish.   Big sig., good /best audio, longest winded...     ok,  soI added that.  Grin

OK...I guess I must be thinking of the other event,,,AM TRANSMITTER RALLY???  There is a computer logging program for that...   Start at local sundown and go till you get tired...Cool...I really like hearing the big transmitters and the rare ones that don't get on the air much...

Mr. Steve, WA1QIX is behind the AM Transmitter Rally.  That is a very successful AM event as well.   He provided electronic logging for that event with some software he conjured up!

The ER Heavy Metal Rally has been going for quite some time now.  I could go back through my ER's to see when it actually started.
