Where are people getting the little circles of PC board material for the one step up from ugly bug construction?  Do they punch them out themselves?

Here's a picture of a little RF amp by K8IQY that uses this technique.  Pretty, isn't it?  Where'd he get the dots?  Maybe you can see it better on his website: http://www.k8iqy.com/miscellaneous/23dbbipolarddsamplifier/23dbddsamplifier.htm.

special drill bit that cuts the circles. I'd like to find one myself. I have not used one in many years but very handy

I'm guessing you bought it a while back Bob, as Harbor Freight don't carry that punch anymore.  I'm glad I got one a year or two ago, but wish I'd bought two, as for making the PC board pads, it's better if you file the sharp point off the die so that it doesn't punch into the PCB material.

I built K8IQY's 2N2 for 40M, but I built the kit version put out by Norcal rather than building it Manhattan style. It's a great little radio with a nice low-noise receiver.
