I worked with a WW2 B17 driver back in the '80s. He had interesting Gremlin stories when they switched over to electric weapon relaese systems in aircraft. He made you think about failure modes.


If they would have packed a pan full of those hot peppers in there, the gremlins would have taken off running  Grin  Grin  Grin

He taught us to be very anal about interlocks and keeping them simple.
