That's right, you saw it here first; exclusive photos of K1JJ's miraculous wheight-loss! Even GQ and Vanity Fair couldn't get these pictures!

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

I went looking for the Fabio QSL card on Tom's website but it appears he removed it in shame  Grin

Whew... that's a releif. I couldn't figure out why you were so confused, Phred!

I was getting worried there for a minute!

I'd have posted a bigger shot, but I think that one was just under the limit, anyway.

Those QSL cards became too popular with the 6M gay crowd, so I had to discontinue printing.

Houston, we have contact!  Wink

Yep, the "before" shot is Elvis-JJ, the "after" shot is Doc Severinsen (I wasn't sure how to spell it at first, either).

Had to hunt around a bit to find a suitable Doc Severinsen pic. Most of the online pics of him are fairly recent. Doc still plays a mean trumpet, but he's really starting to show his age now. Looks great for a guy around 80, absolutely, but he's not perpetually 50 anymore like he was when I grew up watching Johnny Carson.

Doc looked just the right age and wheight in that shot, and it might be one of the few times in history he wasn't dressed like a fishing lure!

The resemblance immediately struck me 10 years ago when I first met Tom, and I've been silently sitting on that little tidbit ever since (I'm certain I'm not the only person who made that connection, and he's probably heard it 100 times for every year he's been alive). Tom's wheight-loss gave me the opening I needed.

Yes, Tom... I've been waiting patiently for a decade for the right moment to spring that one on you! How's that for biding your time and jumping in at the right point in the curve?  Grin

Dangerous territory here Tom. There's probably a lot of gay hams on 75 on 3.872.

I wonder, is it possible to send CW with a lisp?

By the way, I want one of those QSL cards   Grin Grin

Ah... the LPB Citation! I'd marry that board if it only had a mouth it could say "yes" with.

Alas, no. It's actually still in service in that studio. Only WTOS left that building; WSKW 1160, WCTB 93.5, and WHQO (now WFMX) 107.9 stayed behind. That console is now the main console for WFMX.

Nevertheless, everybody at Mountain Wireless Broadcasting knows I want that console when it comes out of service. I've not been shy about that (shocking, I know). It will probably come down to steel-cage death-match between the general manager and myself when that day comes, but I could probably take him.  Cool

Not to worry, though... I do have an Arrakis 12,000 that was pulled from a production studio a few years back (pics in the Gallery). It's in pretty nice shape for a pull, and actually slightly more flexible than the LPB, but the LPB has a better layout for live radio.

Each has its advantages over the other, but I'll always have an affinity for that LPB.
