He was one of the best at backing a sleeze ball into a corner.

I didn't much agree with your political opinions 40 years ago or today.

Ya didn't have to be from Buffalo to like Tim Russert.  He was a journalist and didn't interject his opinions so I never know his personal feelings on different issues.  He had Cronkhite's credibility. It is especially unfortunate that he passed away just as the campaign was heating up and I for one was counting on him to ask hard questions and demand credible answers.  We shall likely not see his kind again in our lifetimes.
