Okay, you short timers...

I was sitting here and realize I have held a ticket ni on to 67 yar, it was sometime in June '40 I got my class "B" operators license.  Back then you
needed an operating  transmitter before a station license (Call Sign!) was
issued.

Things were tough at the time but  a fellow in the neighborhood (W8KQQ, SK) allowed that as I was qualified, he let me come over and operate his 40 meter CW set after school a couple times a week.  That was the start of this adventure!

I've operated over most of the Northern Hemisphere (Hawaii /KH6, Canada /VE2, Alaska KL7NNK, Germany DL5HS, Italy I1DFL, Greenland KG1KK)  and been stationed in several places where they did not allow US Forces to do the ham radio bit BUT, MARS kept us on the air.

Got lots of operating awards (ala 3EGC  Roll Eyes) , 50 year plus ARRL (I know that is a dirty word, Paul) Life Member and have had one hellofalotof fun since the start, way back there.

What with the completion of the radiation and the finishing the rest of the the
protocol shortly, I expect to be around bugging youse guys for another 10 to 20 years; so there...

As I said back there, it's been fun, lets do it some more, an again.

Ralph, W3GL, ex W3AGC and W3NNK plus all the above...

Like most, the first 25 went SLOW....the last 20 were a blink. I sure wish the summers would go as slow as they did when I was a kid.

I agree to some extent,--the first 25 years went "fast" (that was in Dec 84), am now almost at the
2nd 25 year mark, which has gone by even faster.

My 50 year mark will be in December of 09 which is coming up real fast.
Yike`s,-- time does "fly by" after all.

At least you guys remember your 25 year marks. Mine was in 2003, during my "hard times mean I'm QRT from Amatuer Radio" period.  I missed mine completely  Sad
