I came across a 26 turn roller inductor that I'd like to identify. It's paired with a vernier which scale reads from 3 to 18 mc. The maximum inductance seems to be around 18uH. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

That is he plate tank coil from a Navy TBW transmitter, maybe the capacitor is from the same TBW. They use a 803 PA tube and were suppressor modulated for about 75 watts of AM.

A little less capacitance you can get it to 30 MHz.
