Why do you want to use 811 Tubes?

As a linear amp? OK. CCS in plate modulated service is 1KV, ICAS 1250V. That is for USA made (real) 811As.

Some commercially made ham linears use them at 2KV to claim and/or get 1 KW input. Some bias would be in order.

The 160-10L early models came with 811A tubes, later models came stock with 572B. I would not try to push the 811A tubes to 2KW PEP even with low duty cycle SSB.  Check the documentation, I would expect the 811A model used a different zener diode value for increased bias (it is in the center tap of the filament transformer).

From what I have heard a lot of the recent 811A and 572B tubes from China are garbage again like the early days of Chinese tubes.  Do some searching on the internet if you are buying new non-U.S. tubes and there are notes that RF Parts was trying to find a new source because they have experienced so many failures.  So be very careful which tube you use.

Why the 811s? American made 572Bs are available at hamfests etc. I see them all the time up here. Why make life more difficult than it has to be.
