Hi,
Has anyone heard from Howard Mills lately?  I sent him a Valiant front panel for refinishing many weeks ago and he is not responding to my emails.

Thanks

You might try emailing Peter,  K2LRC.  He works with Howard.  Email is contact at k2lrc dot com.

I had the same issue some time ago.  Got my hands of a 51J4 that looked like Howard's handy work.  But he wasn't responding to email.

Howard may always be eternally backed up for restorations. He may not be a great email type with computers.
His restorations make the equipment look better than new.
I did some piece-work for him for a while during a union lock-out, but the long drives to West Va. were getting expensive.

I  spoke to Howard about a week ago. I sent him a radio right after that and he told me it would be some time as he was back logged. He doesn't have time to answer e mails so your best bet would be to call him.

I figured it was his busy schedule.  I have been down to see Howard on several occasions and its just mind boggling how many rigs he has to restore.  He starts very early in the morning and generally puts in 12 hour days.   E mails are low on the priority list.  Also, when you give something to him you must wait patiently until it gets done.  So if you want something in a few weeks then either do it yourself or find somebody else.  Howard's work is some of the best I have seen and on top of that he is a great guy.   I have known him for about 40 years now and he used to live very close to my old QTH.  He needed a big air variable and I had one to pass along to him and that is how we met back in the early 70's.

I don't know how Howard does it.
He's a true believer, I suppose, who hates to see rigs disappear into the miasma of rusting artifacts.
His operating room separate from the rest of the restoring section of the basement is a beauty to behold, contains about one of everything we've all dreamed of having.
His garage is the incoming, holding and outgoing shipping section.

- Think about his works Just about every time I fire up the 32v I'd gotten in a trade with him.
