Viking 2 angst.

After trying fer a while, I finally figured out why I had no modulation.

The original problem was 'no dip' of the final. That was cured (for now) by replacing one of the fixed SM loading caps.

Then, no modulation. The low low level audio sections were ok, the 807 modulators, nothing.  No screen voltage. Crap. And then I discovered the problem. The 2 position rotary switch, the CW Phone switch, has now become a 3 position rotary switch. To paraphrase a well known op, I became a primary subtractive color, to wit, "yellified". Anyone else ever have this happen??

This VK2 has become very naughty, and has caused me much grief.

Yo',

"This VK2 has become very naughty, and has caused me much grief."

Hope your old enough to get this,  " Maybe it's just the Needle".

It's not like it's Personal or anything It's "Begging" for help. You
will provide that help and have a V2 that will "Worship You". I
know how you can be "consumed" by an issue like this. I predict
you will awaken in in the middle of the night with a "Dough"  moment
and the solutions will be apparent.  With this "Junque" we play with
the "Electro-Mechanical" crap can cause pain, but is often the
easiest to resolve. OTOH scrap is at an all time high!

GL OM,  Keep us in the loop.

I wish I wasn't. I still remember playing Christmas music on the record player; Mom would not let me any where near the Hi-Fi.
