This was the first time I missed Nearfest but to all my friends whom I usually spend time with up there it was for a good cause.
I had the pleasure of walking my only daughter down the aisle on that Saturday.
In deference to Nearfest I did wear the famous Viking hat for a picture.

Another thing that makes October a month I will never forget is that this coming Friday I retire!  Yippee!
Now I can get to all the projects I have been putting off like getting the Scratchy Apache on the air.

Congrats on both accomplishments. Your daughter obviously takes after her mother.  Grin

Congratulation on both. I did the same with my daughter this Spring.

I hope there is enough left for you to retire!

Sounds like a great month: you can tell your daughter you'd like a little sub-harmonic to spoil.

It's the sub-harmonics that make life sweat.  Wink

You could hire the best people in the photo biz and not get a better picture!

Congrats.

Bob, QWT - you should enjoy the ship's patch for MINNESOTA, just christened at Newport News, the patch was the winning design of a state competition to design one for the ship. I believe it was done by a high school student:

Hi Chris,
I can only imagine how much difference there is in the Minnesota and the boats that were in my squadron.
I was a radioman on the USS Fulton in 1970 which was the flagship of Submarine Squadron 10 which consisted of Permit Class fast attack boats and the venerable USS Nautilus. I recently visited the museum boat Nautilus at Groton recently and was amazed at how small the hatches had become. I remember delivering msg traffic to her when she was tied up alongside and we had her radio watch. The hatches and compartments were much bigger back then! Ha.
