Well well well, lookey here, it's 6:10 a.m. and light out.  Now I'll get to go to work in daylight  Roll Eyes and come home when it's dark and I want to do things outside  Huh Angry

I sure can't wait until I retire so I can join the ranks of the TCDs* and put my QTH in its own time zone.

Rob

At least this year I did not sit outside Church for an hour.

DST is now OFF. Some people forget which way it goes. In Summer the daylight is longer so the clock is set forward to allow outdoor work to begin without "wasting daylight".

It's a mess because coordinated universal time certainly does not change.

Just keep time the same.  Away with "fake time" plus to put a radio spin on it, when our EST returns each year the AWA AM net on Sunday afternoon at 4PM works much better Smiley

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams actually said that with the switch to standard time "WE GAIN AN HOUR OF DARKNESS" !!! really???
I thought for sure after the commercial break we would correct himself, but he didn't

Do you really expect intelligence from Brian Williams?

I find my first and second cups of coffee each morning taste the same whether DST is "on" or "off" so I view the time change as a minor annoyance that costs me 15 minutes of my valuable time re-setting all the clocks in the house. Ok, that's my rant, time for another cup of coffee and a long CQ on 10 meters to see who is bouncing off the ionosphere this morning!

I don't expect intelligence from any of the talking heads I see on television: the old-line journalists who covered wars and civil disturbances and courtrooms and drunk tanks have been replaced by blow-dried airheads who recite the lines someone else wrote. Most have no formal education in journalism, and wouldn't know what "Cloture" meant if it was written by an airplane in the sky, and couldn't explain the difference between an indictment and a conviction even if they were the one being charged.

The sad part is that none of them cares. They are there to sell soap, and they know it.

Get your news from the internet (everything there is true), Fox news, or nightly on 75 meters. I generally opt for 75 meters where there is a potpourri of down-home news scholars.

Something to wonder about. In the UK they have something called Summer Time and Winter Time. they use pretty much the same setup as we do for the same reasons. So people living on the prime meridian have to reset the clocks twice a year like us.

You can't see it, but there's probably a "never" shade over Don's location.
