"One Reel Wonder: Radio Hams (1939) 7:44 PM EST right after the movie on
right now is over.
"

Looks like 15 minutes worth. Should be cool.

Just heard from my cousin Joe that Tim Allen- Last Man standing will air a show in January where he plays a ham radio operator. He better strap!

I like the Whiskey glass insulators on the first rig. The egg beater idea for coils are neat too!

I've seen it before, probably as a result of a posting here.

Interesting to see the cake pan transmitter circa 1939, yes - with inverted shot glasses used as insulators.

And finally, the mystery that has baffled Don, K4KYV for decades: using all upper case to spell out the word HAM. It dates back at least to 1939. Did they mention 'Elmer' too? In all the excitement, I forget.
