Any drawing SW will work. You can DL symbols off the Web or make your own. Even old buzzard AppleWorks will do.

Capilano also offers a PCB prep package that does schematic capture, DesignWorks Lite, $35. (30 day free trial)

http://www.capilano.com/html/dwml.html

Or DL the trial version of EazyDraw.

ExpressPCB.... Not knowing a whole lot about the new Macs, I do not know if you can run native windows programs unter the Mac operating system.  I *do* know this works just fine under various Unix operating systems (using WINE, the windows emulator) - and I believe the new Macs are in fact Unix under the covers !!

Anyway, the free ExpressPCB software comes with an all right schematic program.  I use it for all of my schematics and it works like a charm.

Steve

Parallels and VMWare's Fusion are the two biggies that will allow you to run Windows on the Mac. There are others too. I've used Fusion and Windows XP with no problems. Just never let the VM touch the Internet and you're pretty safe.

You are correct, Windows will run natively, but ONLY using Apple's Boot Camp. And then you will have to boot into either Windows or Mac OSX. Although slower, Fusion or Parallels will allow you to run Mac OSX and Windows at the same time. This is far more convenient for moving data back and forth, but I guess it depends on the individual user if rebooting each time you want to change the OS is an inconvenience. I've tried both and like the VMWare option best. If I was running a ton of PC apps, Boot Camp would probably be the better choice. But, if I were running a lot of PC apps, I'd just get a PC. Tongue
