Was enjoying a nice roundtable last night on 80m with W8KHZ, W8TOW and WA4IAM when who should appear but the DERB, N3DRB. He was booming into VT with a 20-25 db/S9 signal and strong audio. Figured he got the amp online, but no - it was just the Yay-sue. Some static crashes from the storms passing through, but he made it over them with no problem.

All I can say Derb, is..god help us when you get the Gonset online! You will indeed be a BIG STRAPPER.   Grin

Yep, was talking with Don after returning from a phone call with the XYL and Derb jumped in to say hello to KYV. I signed out for bed, but listened for a few minutes on the SP-100X. Both Don and Tim were coming in great.

Other than the storms racing through the northeast, it was a decent radio night.

gonna try the amp again in a bit. I have been resisting trouble shooting it with the cover off for obvious reasons, but I'm gonna have to measure some things. It was great to talk to some people. I'll have the Yeasu on regardless of amp status. Any talkin is better than none.

I thought I'd be so piss weak with the barefoot rig I didnt wanna get on without the amp. Not the case it would seem.

Timmy,
If you cannot figger out the gonshit, Pack all of it up and toss it in the truck and run it ova to me. I'll prolly be able to fix it while you wait. Give me a call on the yellafone if you want. I have thought up a coupla ideers that would also make the keying circuit a little more compatable with yer Yasoo.

Like I said on the air last night, you were putting out a strapping signal barefoot!!

Add a little more fire to the wire and you could be dangerous!!

80m wasn't as quiet last night and a bit more flaky, but your flea-power signal was still STRONG up here, Derb. As well as strapping my pissweak signal, at times you were competing with Frank on the guesS-meter. Sure would be interested in hearing how you get so much audio out of an old ricebox like that. I think you're running an Alpha 2-holer and just not telling us.  Grin
