That photo was taken in front of his booth at Dayton.  He had a serious foot injury, and we were helping him hobble to the EMT's for first aid.  Somehow, from out of nowhere, a kw size transformer had managed to mysteriously drop on his foot, smashing his big toe.  It was believed that the transformer had been aimed at another part of his anatomy, but he lucked out and just happened to lean his head off to the side as the transformer descended.

No-one could ever figure out where the transformer came from.  It turned out to be a  crapped-out KW-1 modulation transformer.  The person who took the photo did say that he had noticed an unusually large gathering of NorthEastern AM'ers who used to regularly hang out on 3885 kHz, huddling near the booth just before the accident occurred.

After the "accident", investigators found several broken Radio Shack timers on the floor in his booth.  But it was later determined that those belonged to Glenn, something he had picked up earlier from the fleamarket.  No-one could say for sure whether they had been damaged intentionally, during the course of the accident, or if Glenn had been ripped off by the vendor.
